  • Off-site construction specialist and Portakabin subsidiary Yorkon has launched a website for architects, contractors and construction clients: www.yorkon.info. The website is designed to give specifiers and building professionals a fast and efficient guide to the potential, benefits and wide-ranging applications of off-site construction solutions.
  • Fencing specialist Zaun has received the Secured by Design award by the Association of Chief Police Officers for its recently launched ArmaWeave range of fencing. ArmaWeave is a high tensile woven mesh that requires no welding and is suitable for high security perimeter barriers.
  • The RIBA has published a design guide called Ramps, Stairs and Escalators. The book, which is up to date with the new BS 8300 - the code of practice for meeting the needs of disabled people - includes guidance as well as case studies, simple diagrams and photographs to illustrate good design and practice.
  • Portakabin has become the first modular manufacturer to achieve CE approval - the product mark that states that products have been tested to European standards. The Portakabin Ultima, Titan and Solus buildings have all gained European Technical Approval.
  • Balustrade expert Richard Burbidge has launched a website () with a dedicated area for architects and specifiers that has the latest information and guidance on indoor and outdoor balustrade systems.
